We started the month by going to preschool screening on June 4, 2012. Maddy did very well during the screening process. However, her vision was questionable so we were referred to a formal eye doctor who could give her a more comprehensive eye check up. Basically, Maddy is a little far sighted, but does not need correction at this time. We have applied to enroll Maddy in a preschool program this fall, Sept. 2012. Due to her December birthday she will be in preschool for 2 years before attending Kindergarten. The first year of preschool that she will begin this fall is called Learning Ladder. She is very excited to attend "school".
Maddy showed interest in a scooter at daycare so we bought one for use at home. She loves it almost as much as her balance bike. We are trying to encourange her to master pedals so we also got her a "Big Wheel". Her feet don't quite reach the pedals yet. We're sure it won't be long though.
Maddy has spent most of this month either playing at the beach with sand toys, swimming in the lake or playing at the playground at the campground. She has also become comfortable with a few chores like rinsing & stacking dishes, helping set the table and unloading the dishwasher. Her highest goal is to be helpful. She assists with watering flowers, sweeping sidewalks and writing lists. If we begin a list, Maddy must begin her own list whether it be for groceries or to-do's.
Madeline's growth continues. She is now 40 1/8 inches tall and weighs 38.8 pounds. She is in the 95th percentile for height and the 90th percentile for weight. She fits a size 5T or a girls size 4/5. Our little "firecracker's" growth is consistantly climbing.
