Madeline is 9 months old

Maddy is now 29" long and weighs 21 pounds. The big news this month...

Maddy is crawling! She is getting pretty quick too. She took her first "crawl steps" on 8/18/2009. She went swimming in Leaf Lake for the first time this month on 8/11/2009. It was the first really hot day that we've had here for a while. The lake was still a little chilly which brought tears to her eyes at first. Once she was used to the temperature, she really liked splashing and floating. Maddy is very lucky to have a friend her age named Mazie. She and Mazie had their first playdate on 8/21/2009. During her playdate, we started to work on sharing. She needs a lot of practice with that issue. It was really fun to see the two girls interact. Maddy is very aware of others and takes interest in what they're doing at all times. Maddy moved to a larger car seat this month too. Mom and Dad picked out a cover where stains won't be easy to see. The doorway frame was starting to feel the effects of the Johnny Jumper that Maddy has been happily using so we stopped. Many thanks to Hollie, our niece, for lending her Jumperoo to us. Maddy is enjoying it tremendously and can once again jump to her heart's content! Only a couple more weeks until the campground closes for the season and then it's moving time on Oct. 17th.
